Box Rental information

Sunshine Services offers "truck box" type containers that roll-off the back of our truck and sit about 10 inches off the ground for easy self loading.

These large containers are great for shingles, construction debris, brush, household cleanouts and general clean up around your home.

We can deliver these "boxes" to your driveway and perhaps to your side-yard or backyard for convenient self loading.

We offer three sizes. But they all rent for the same price schedule: See steps below: A + B + C + D + E + F will calculate YOUR cost.

A. Box rents for $75.00 for the first 24 hour period.

B. After the first 24 hour period there is a $5.00 per day fee.*

*NOTE: If we set the box on a Friday at our convenience, and pick it up the following Monday at our convenience, the weekend will count only as one 24 hour period with no per-day fees.

C. Deliveries outside of Storm Lake city limits are charged a mileage fee of $1.25 per mile. This mileage is calculated by multiplying the number of miles times the four trips (1.) Deliver box, (2.) return to shop, (3.) pickup box, then (4.) return to shop after unloading.

D. The next cost you need to include when figuring your cost is the fee charged by the Buena Vista County Solid Waste Commission. Presently this fee is $37.00 per ton. Roughly, that is about 2 cents per pound of regular refuse or debris. (see E. below)

E. Certain items the Landfill Commission charges extra fees for are items such as: stoves & refrigerators, all types of appliances, chairs and furniture with springs including mattress and box spring sets, computers, TV sets, and tires of all types If you have these items, we can give you the current landfill prices and procedures for loading them in our roll-off boxes. Do not load these items without contacting Sunshine Services 732-4242  

F. Mileage charges will be added at $1.25 per mile (two ways) for any load that must be taken to the Cherokee, Iowa landfill. The B.V. County Solid Waste Center mandates which loads are to be sent to the Cherokee landfill.

The Box Sizes are:  

A. 4' H X 8' W X 14' L (about 16.6 cu yd)

B. 3' X 8' X 12.5 (about 10.6 cu yd)

C. 1.5' X 8' X 12.5' (This short-sided box is great for concrete because of its wheelbarrow ramp.)

SORRY, BUT YOU CANNOT LOAD THIS IN THE BOX:

The B.V. County Landfill Commission will not accept items such as scrap metal, wire fencing, liquid paint - both lead and latex based, batteries, household or farm chemicals, ammunition of any kind and any other hazardous or explosive materials or items.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT:

YOUR LOAD IS EXAMINED WHEN IT IS UNLOADED. EXTRA CHARGES WILL BE INCURRED BY YOU IF THEIR POLICY IS VIOLATED.  

ALL BOX ORDERS REQUIRE A PREPAYMENT WHEN THE ORDER IS PLACED. 

$125.00 inside Storm Lake city limits and $150.00 outside the Storm Lake city limits. Higher pre-payments will be charged for loads that include many items for which the solid waste commission charges extra. This prepayment will be subtracted from your final bill. Overpayments will result in a credit to your account. This prepayment must be received before the box will be delivered.
